what i want to know is what type of golfer they will suit.
According to Golf Digest's Max Adler, stock shafts are made with a softer tip, to promote a higher launch. They are also made to suit almost all golfers swing profiles. Nike (45.75") and Taylormade (45.75-46.25") are notorious for making clubs that could be considered too long, in an effort to say theirs carry the ball the farthest.
Go get fit. If you are already a high-ball hitter, you might want to look into a shaft that has a stiffer bend profile, to get a lower trajectory.
